In January, the SADD chapter at Red Bay High School conducted a survey of Tobacco Use for their school, grades 7-12. The aim of the survey was to measure the affect of the tobacco education programs and emphases in their on-going effort to educate their peers about the dangers of tobacco use and the truth about the marketing techniques of Big Tobacco. The students went around the lunch room, asking their fellow students to fill out a short, anonymous survey stating what grade they are in and if they have or have not used tobacco products in the last 6 months. One of the reasons the students chose to ask about a six month time period was that football season began in the last six months. The students are currently working on tallying and analyzing the survey results.
