We Get It Alabama
Franklin County Schools
December 2017
During the month of December, two of our schools’ SADD programs participated in their community’s Christmas parade. The students marched with banners, declaring their support for anti-tobacco policies, provided scripts to be read about putting a “smoke free community” on their Christmas list, handed out candy as well as printed material to educate the community about getting help to quit smoking. In these events, students had the opportunity to advocate for health in their own towns. These Christmas parades are attended by most of each city’s population, so it was a wonderful opportunity to put the anti-tobacco message before the public.
